10 Ways To Be An Environmental Friendly eBay Seller
The recent WWF’s t-shirt auction campaign against global climate change has received many favourable response.
In support for the environmental issues we are facing today, I decided to participate in Blog Action Day and discuss about being environmental friendly too, the eBay way.
If you are just starting out on eBay and buying loads of packing materials to store doesn’t sound so much like a good idea, you can become a recycler. I remember using recycled boxes myself when I was a newbie. Customers will not mind receiving recycled boxes for their items as long as their item arrives in one piece and well-packed.
The followings are more ways you can use to do your bit on preserving the environment as an eBay seller.
10 Ways To Be An Environmental Friendly eBay Seller
1. Keep a look out for boxes when you visit the convenient stores. Most of the stores would throw away huge pile of boxes after putting the items on shelves. Ask the store if you can have those boxes and if it is possible to reserve all these boxes-still-in-good-using-condition for you every time they throw it away.
2. Put all the unwanted letters, misprints or unneeded printed pages into a shredder. You can use them to pad boxes or envelopes. These really looked good and professional for your parcels plus it gets you recycling instead of trashing them on the waste basket.
3. If you often mail fragile things, simply cut up clean egg cartons to make lightweight packing material to protect the contents of your mailing packages.
4. Try not to drive as much. If you are out to the post office whenever there is a parcel to ship, try a schedule. Collect say, 50 parcels, before going to the post office or calling the Fedex man. Or go to the post office on a fix time, fix day per week.
5. If your office is close enough, walk to the store instead of driving (only if you are shipping small packets).
6. Save on printer toner and ink. Use the “Toner Save” mode whenever you print labels, receipts or invoices. They look as good, saves you a lot of ink in the long run, and you won’t really notice any difference in the quality.
7. Obtain items at no cost to sell on eBay. The Freecycle Network is about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. You can get items for free which you can resell for a large profit on eBay.

Changing the world one gift a time.
8. Resist the temptation to buy things that you really don’t need in the beginning of your business set up. Most often, you can find some neat office supplies around the house such as paper clip holders, message books, fancy note pads and stationeries.
9. Use rechargeable batteries and a battery charger for your camera. This saves energy because the energy needed to manufacture a battery is on average 50 times greater than the energy it gives out.
10. Support eBay Giving Works by creating or launching charity auctions which donate and raise funds for environmental campaigns.
What about you?
Have you been doing your bit on recycling or be environmental friendly while making money online?

Ever since I quit my high tech job and work from home. I don’t drive my V8 SUV that much. It generates less CO2.
I think we should all work from home and make some easy money.
Shall we?
