20 Free Image Hosting Sites
Sep 30th, 2007 by JH
Image or picture hosting plays an important role in our eBay listings. Taking great pictures for your eBay items is only the beginning. How you slot the pictures into your listings is something to learn.
The default eBay picture is really small and I really hate seeing that in my auctions, honestly. I definitely can’t do without a picture hosting place.
The Questions
Why do some sellers have larger picture in their listing?
How do they put up the picture in the middle or on top of the listings?
How do some eBay sellers upload more than one picture on their listings?
The Problems
Look how much eBay are charging you for each listing if you use:
1. Supersize Picture $0.75
2. Listing Designer $0.10
3. Each additional Picture $0.15 (First picture is free)
4. Picture Pack $1.00 for up to 6 pictures or $1.50 for 7 to 12 pictures

Using any or more than one of these features by eBay will mean pushing your costs higher. The next best thing you can do is to look into free Image Hosting Service or pay a little sum for Unlimited Image Hosting.
The Solutions
Here is a compiled list of Free Picture Hosting that you can use for hosting your eBay images. Some of them have the tools which will resize your pictures. The result, you can have bigger pictures, put more than one of it and use them on any location you want in your eBay listing.
1. Image Shack
2. Free Image Host
3. Photo Bucket
4. Image Bam
5. Auctiva
6. Village Photos
7. Your Image Host
8. Alka Space

Paid Picture Hosting?
There are also many Picure Hosting site which you can use for a minimum fees with unlimited uploads. However, I don’t really recommend using them. You’d better be paying for an Auction Management Tool which always comes with Picture Hosting.
Here are my free eBay About Me Templates and eBay Auction Templates if you need some.

Jenny,
Thanks for sharing…
PhotoBucket…the link has some problem…pls check.
I believe just use http://photobucket.com will do.
Is Yahoo Flickr can be used as well ?
Very nice list of image hosts, especially for newer members of eBay who don’t realise you can save money by hosting them elsewhere.
hey, nice list.
The one I am using right now is PicsPay.Com
It not only let you host pics for freeeee, but also PAY you if people are viewing it.
However the site is under beta testing and will be opicially lauching soooon…
Thanks, Webworm! Apparently, it is the “http://” which is missing! Yes, I think Flickr is fine too.
Thanks, Boon! When people viewing it means clicking on the picture that leads to picspay website, if I’m not wrong? I think that was very inappropriate in eBay listing, as we are trying to have buyers continue reading our auction and not clicking to somewhere else unrelated.
Oh yes, it is prohibited by eBay to have links to any site out of eBay in your listings!
ah Mark, Thanks for dropping by! I know, i know, i still owe you something…
Here’s a free site that my good friend owns. Nothing like good old fashioned customer service -
http://www.file-house.com/
He’s wonderful and has helped me with my website too.
AhBoon,
Thanks for sharing…
Following your advice, i have uploaded some “great” stuff there…
Will continue to upload…But i opinion is this site is NON-user friendly.
May be i don’t aware, why can’t upload multiple image at once like Flickr ? We got to click one-by-one…guh…so time consuming…
Connie,
Wow ! Greats !! Thanks for sharing…
I have learnt some great tricks from your friend’s website.
I use Auctiva at the moment and that works just fine for me as I can list to ebay from there as well.
Personally, I use AOL pictures for my blogging, family photo sharing and auction images.
http://pictures.aol.com
It has free unlimited disk space. Best of all, it loads fast from Asia. All of the images links are dynamic loaded and resized based on your screen resolution.
