More and more sellers are making the move out of EBay after it implemented changes in fees and the feedback rating system last February.
A lot of them are now doing their businesses elsewhere, particularly at some alternative online auction sites such as Wigix, Silkfair, Etsy and Oodle. These sites, although a lot smaller than Ebay, charge lower fees and offer more hand-holding services for sellers.
Another feature sellers love about these newer sites is that they cater to specific niches – a definite plus for those who want their products to stand out. These sites are also loaded with lots of free features such as how-to videos and blogs that can enrich your shopping experience.
However, there is also a definite downside in using these smaller e-commerce sites. For one, you can never be sure of a seller’s reputation, so the possibility of a buying experience gone bad will always be there. So, always proceed with caution if you want to make the change.
