Colors and How They Brand Your eBay Business
Have you step into an eBay listings and then you click the ‘Back’ button on your browser because the listings didn’t catch your fancy?
Or landing in a blog only to find the colors unappealing that you hop back and find another more interesting looking blog to read?
Although I agree that content or the quality of your product should be the main focus, but colors do play a major role in creating a good first impression and often determine whether buyers will stay on to see what you have got to sell.
Imagine the world without colors. Wouldn’t it be a full place to live in? The same goes with your eBay auctions. You can use color to brand your eBay business. Simply incorporate them into many things like your packaging, labels, logo, website or blog when your business grows.
Different colors create different moods, entice buyers and project the type of image for your business. It is a powerful way to convey messages on your brand.
Look at this list of examples that you can use to brand your eBay listings:
1. Orange: Energetic, cheerful and industrial (Eg. Home Depot)
2. Pink: Feminine, soft and innocent (Eg. Wacoal)
3. Purple: Mysterious and regal (Eg. LA Lakers)
4. Red: Strong, happy and yang (Eg. KFC)
5. Blue: Business-like and steady (Eg. HP)
6. Yellow: Joyful, bright and positive (Eg. Digi)
7. Green: Calm, recycle and environmental friendly. (Eg. Most organic products)
Now you know why I like to have orange in my blog? I just like the tone of being cheerful and energetic. Have you really give a thought about how the colors in your blog, website or eBay listings affect your readership or buyers all this while? It is not too late to think about it now.
Well, since most of you are not an eBay seller.. I would very much like to know what kind of mood or image you are trying to project in your blog? Do you think you have successfully blend the colors with the image you want to project?

Good day Jenny
Colors play an important role in everything, packaging, marketing, blogging etc, I chose black color for my blog because most photos look great with that background color
White as the background is nice. I’ll use colours to either to highlight important points, different segments or etc.It is easier to match any colour with white background. Nowadays, I also use white as background colour for my powerpoint slides.
ahh… colors…
reminds me of this teasing duel I have with my seven year old Sara (the rainbow of my life) about the color we’re wearing everyday. I’m sure you remember some of them :
Red, red botak-head,
Orange, orange you so strange,
Yellow, yellow dirty fellow,
Green, green rubbish bin,
Blue, blue smelly pooo,
Purple, purple look like a pimple,
Brown, brown silly clown,
White, white big backs*de,
Pink, pink oh you stink,
This morning I was a botak-head. Right now I’m smelly poo.

Hi Bee, I have to agree with you. Your pics are so colorful they came out so good in black background.
Kai Wah, i like white background too actually. It is advisable to use white background as sometimes we may need to paste images from other places. These images often have white background. They look odd and doesn’t blend nicely in colors background. Eg. The Technorati, eBay, “U comment, I follow†and some other icons in my blog.
Andrew, hmmm, doesn’t sound familiar to me…mmm,
i look like a pimple now
Like you new header
And that must be you sitting at the couch
LOL Bee, yes, that’s me on the couch! I took this minutes ago for the header purpose! LOL
After reading this post, I’m thinking to change my blog to orange too
