eBay Scam Email

You found an email in your inbox inviting you to be an eBay Powerseller. Do not be too excited too soon! Although the quality of the email seems good but if you are not careful you may just be caught off guard of this type of spam email.

Be very suspicious of links in email and do not click on them. It can be difficult to contain our excitement at times when we know we have worked real hard and we are waiting for the invitation from eBay.

To verify that you have received this email from eBay, check in your “My eBay” and go to “Messages Inbox”. If eBay have sent you invitation, you should see it there.

There are also other types of scam emails. Commons ones are sellers filing a dispute to you for non-paying item and warning to change your ebay or paypal password. They do make you panic or excited at times.

    Ya, i have beeeen receiving lots of mail from PalPal where i do not register the email account with PalPal :evil:

    Not only eBay, PayPal, Maybank2u, PublicBank, eGold, IntGold, and many others related to financial services were being used as the phishing method to get the user Identity and passwords. :evil:

    Always becareful to check the actual link content in every link when you move your mouse over it. It’s better to type the require link instead of clicking on link. :neutral:

    Don’t trust the email sender, it can be look like from a genuine email address. :???:

    it is very funny that i didn’t have ebay account and i get the email from ebay say that if i didn’t settle the payment after i won the bid, they will close my account. LOL.

    i found that we will get a lot of spam mails from gmail. And a lot of scam mails in my gmail account.

    Doraemon, yes, the link look suspicious, and the sentence “if you agree with this rank” is funny.

    Boon, do they just send to anyone with an email account ah…

    Calvin yes, especially when we are involved in those area, scams can make us believe it is true. Example like when we receive a scam email regarding dispute from eBay, we can really panic.

    Gallivanter, scammers don’t quit. they are getting smarter and smarter. They change the way they write their emails. They improved everyday.
