How often would you ring someone you hardly know and ask them how they make it in the internet?

I received a call from a complete stranger a couple of days ago, asking me how to sell in eBay. Well, I admit I was caught bysurprise and the question did not seem that straight forward when I think it further.
Of course, the first thing that came to my mind is to register for an account. Now, don’t laugh. I even have question like, “Do I need a referral to register?†Honestly, question makes me wonder how much homework they have done before coming for an answer.
Well, “How to sell?†is actually a broad question by itself and it’s practically impossible to cover this question in just one post.

So, first thing first, please go and register for an account. You will need to include your credit card information for verification purposes. There will not be any charges on your card until you sell at eBay sites which incur fees for selling.
Just like getting a good blog name, you should also get creative and think of a good ID that reflects your niche or business (I know, I should take on my own advice). How to choose a good name?
I suggest writing down all the keywords and descriptive terms regarding your products, niche or business. Normally if I need to create more buzzwords, I always love to give the thesaurus a try. Alternatively, you can also go to name generator sites like Noemata. Although I doubt the random names generated will be truly useful for you as the word produced can seem quite odd, you can click the check name button to show you the meaning behind the name generated.

Here is another cool site http://www.yudkin.com/generate.htm I found which can give you lots of tips further for you to ponder. You may also consider investing in services like Namebuilder and Namerazor. Of course, these services don’t come quite as cheap, but if you are truly serious and stuck, then this may be your solution!
Fret not if you feel you have chosen an incorrect name. You can change your eBay ID, just login, scroll to Accounts on the left and choose Personal Information. You can only change your ID once every 30 days though. Every time you changed your ID, this icon
will appear beside your ID for 30 days again. Yes, your profile and feedbacks will follow your new ID.
Once you have registered your new account, your yellow friend
will by the side of your ID for 30 days. (I will follow you…)
Done? Then it is time to start some selling which I shall cover in part II. If you have any questions, just leave a feedback (only positive allowed though *wink*) and we shall discuss that too.

huh, choose name also need wisdom ka?? Name like ahboon sure no bisness till chap lup la.
Hi Winston, Bee and Boon, well, a good name makes it easier to brand your product, design a logo and makes your business professional. It may not be a must, but it can serve as a marketing tool.
Yeah, i think a good name/nickname is important too. My “nickname” used to be monkey____ in yahoo or forums… seems so amateur and no credibility. Lol.
oh yes, Alex, you are so right, i missed the email part, actually our email should be professional in business too!! would you consider doing business with someone having email like partyanimals@hotmail.com?
Great…now this is what i wanna learn la….please post more and more..don’t stop ya…lol.
All things aside, I think the key is finding the particular niche market that will allow you to find your satisfied profit margin, THAT is something can’t be learned BUT self discovery
[...] The lady on the phone continues to ask me what are the best products to sell. Obviously, she has not done her research and I do not spoon feed, sorry. I can only direct her to this wonderful page in eBay called “What’s HOTâ€. [...]
