eBay UK Bans Paid Search Traffic For Affiliate Programs
From 1st February 2008 we will no longer compensate for Paid Search traffic from Google, Yahoo or MSN, if directly linked to an eBay.co.uk page. After this time, any earnings from revenue or ACRUs generated through direct Paid Search will be reversed.
This applies to the UK affiliate programme only. If you are signed up to another eBay affiliate programme outside of the UK, the T&Cs for that programme will remain as they are currently.
The ban applies to traffic purchased from Google, Yahoo, MSN & any of their content networks, such as Google AdSense, Yahoo! Publisher Network & MSN ContentAds.
Direct linking via Paid Search campaigns on all other search engines is still permitted though and paid search directing to a landing page on a non-eBay domain is allowed on all search engines.
On a positive note, there will be an increase in the eBay.co.uk affiliate programme pricing. Would love to receive this news soon.
