Google AdSense Secrets 4th Edition Joel Comm - Do NOT Buy!

Google AdSense Secrets 4th Edition - Joel Comm

Google AdSense Secrets 4th Edition by Joel Comm is the second (supposedly) updated version of AdSense Secrets. I was lucky that a friend shoved me one of this latest eBook she bought to learn something about making money from Adsense.

My first impression on Google AdSense Secrets 4th Edition is it’s really a great book for beginners. This is not to say I’m an expert in making money from Adsense. I do find a little pointers here and there throughout the book, but mainly, most of the stuff in there are what you’ve already read somewhere if you are a blogger already.

It was funny that Joel Comm said this is a updated version for 2008 when more than half of the links in there are dummies site, probably these sites were working before. There were either moved, terminated, or god knows what happens to these domains.

Joel Comm also mentioned about Adsense Buddy, a free program he developed and is free for download. I was disappointed to find that the software is only available in windows. There is a note on the page that says Adsense Buddy does not work in Vista, hence they have discontinue development of this.

Heck! I find this eBook is not qualified to be labelled “updated version for 2008″ at all if your software is not even updated for Vista. What if your buyer is a Vista user?

Then there is a sample site where he shows you the placement of Adsense Ads, but the placement on the site has already changed and no longer reflected what he said.

The first edition of AdSense Secrets cost $77.

The second edition of AdSense Secrets was priced at $97.

The third edition continued to sell thousands of copies at $97.

And the fourth edition with 222 pages is only $9.95!

Obviously, the huge price drop is due to:

* the fact that it is not a really revised edition as the links aren’t even updated.
* the fact that it is merely an extension of the existing edition on the later part of the book.
* the fact that you will be subscribed by default to Joel’s newsletter or report (chargeable monthly at $29.95, which was not mentioned anywhere in the sales letter). He gives you the first report for free.
* the fact that it will be troublesome to cancel the the monthly chargeable news or to get a refund of this book.

Google AdSense Secrets 4th Edition really a great tool for the beginners though if not for its revised edition. Novice bloggers can be lost where to look for information and which sources to trust. So, this is really a handy book as it is organized and structured and guides you step by step on making money with Adsense.

I wish the the revisions are serious and real and that he could have been more honest with the newsletter membership thingy. Some of the links, tools and advices in this eBook proved to be quite useless no matter how well written the eBook is.

Some of these issues make me think twice about Joel Comm’s other products.

Buy Google AdSense Secrets 4th Edition at your own risk - you have been warned.

And… did you learn something from this Internet Marketing guru?

Great perspective! 45n5.com and myself have been chatting about it and have posted on our blogs about this. You mentioned the fact that it was previously priced so highly makes it very suspicious to be so cheap today. Though many gurus of the past used to think this is called “baits”, today’s bloggers and web2.0 internet marketers are using free ebooks as baits to build up their list instead.

I made searches on google for reviews of this product and obviously the reviews out there are for the affiliate money. I wonder if they have really gone through the book.

Agree with you. Seems like Joel is becoming a nuisance more than a guru. 4 out of every 5 emails he sends out these days is a plug for some product or other. I don’t think he intentionally wants to be a scammer, but for some rea$$$$$$on (in my opinion at least) he has gone over to the dark side and become a spammer.

BTW… hi Jenny… you’ve been busy dressing and undressing your blog theme over the past few weeks I see.

Hi Andrew, long time no see. OH, i’ve been testing another theme because my old theme doesn’t support the new WP version. :???:

Hearing only bad about the ebook everywhere, seems like the prime time of Joel Comm is long gone

    Jenny,

Great review. I’ve found the same thing with other “Gurus”. Unfortunately, they are pushing a product that ends up being 2 years old, not updated and not maintained, not to mention, over priced.

Like Andrew mentions above, I’m not sure Joel is intentionally trying to be scammer vs trying to build his already large list to promote others products.
