How To Get Your Customers to “Buy Now”

Once you go past the initial stage of setting up your business such as putting up a website, installing an e-commerce system (in order to facilitate payment or ordering), you are probably thinking of how to get your customers to ‘buy now’.

After all, the reach afforded by the web is so vast that fickle customers have too many options on their hands. They can just as surely purchase from your competitor than from your store. The trick is therefore, to get them to ‘buy now’. (In fact, this is not a trick, but the key to successful online selling.)

You have probably heard that content is king on the internet. While I am not suggesting that you have a lot of content in order to persuade your customers to ‘buy now’, it is certainly crucial that you have good copy on your site. At the very least, the sales page should be a convincing copy.

If the copy is really good and the price is quite affordable, you can quickly get your customers into the ‘buy now’ mentality. And this means that your customers buy from you, before they even think about going elsewhere.

Again, the internet is vast and once they go ‘elsewhere’, this may be the last that you hear from them, unless you have already built a solid presence for yourself. Getting your customers to ‘buy now’ becomes less of a concern if you have established yourself.

Then again, there is no harm in getting your customers to ‘buy now’ even if you are established. Who would mind some extra quick sales?

Hire a good copywriter if you can afford it. If not, do it yourself. Of course, there is no need to go for the top notch ones, unless you are selling a high ticket product; in which case, your expense may be justified.

Being able to do it yourself means that you are good with words, can get into your customer’s head and able to produce the copy in reasonable time. Otherwise, take advantage of a large market of copy-writing freelancers out there, and source out the work. Find a good copywriter and stick with that person for the rest of your life (if possible).

Other ways of getting them to ‘buy now’ are by making your site more interactive. Include a video of yourself or a streaming audio file of you talking to your customer. Alternatively, purchase an animated character to do it in a more professional way.

As a business-person, you are best doing what you are good at, which translates to doing what you are already doing. Improve the results of your present activities but leave the rest to the people who are meant to take care of those.

Getting your customers to ‘buy now’ is really an art; the ability to persuade them to take the action you want almost immediately. Think about it; the most common way to do that on the web is through written words; through a good copy. Make that sizzling copy.
