How would you react to such eBay message?
One day, if you ever receive an eBay message from a buyer that goes like this: “It is already 40 days since your notification on shipment and the parcel have not arrived.â€
Would you:
A) Tell her to wait a little longer (despite knowing that the parcel should have arrived and probability of it showing up is 11%)
B) Tell her you will issue a full refund (even though your auction says you are not liable for lost parcels)
C) Tell her honestly “Can’t you read? We said no refund! The parcel must be lost!â€
D) Others. Please add your own answers. *smile*
I have replied her by now. I am not sure if you will feel and do things the same way that I do though as everybody have their own ways of solving things.
But I would like to know what you think and how you would react?
Share with me how you’d solve this, even if you are not selling anything from the internet? What does your feeling tells you to do?

I’d check on delivery confirmation (which I usually use unless it’s an international sale). Then if it says package arrived on a certain date/time, I’d ask buyer to check with all people in her home and with neighbors. Give her confirmation info too. Buyer can use that to check with her Post Office.
If still a problem and feedback on buyer is good (no other similar issues) then I’d give a partial refund.
I have no experience in online selling, but I like Connie’s approach
Chk the delivery confirmation like connie, then ask the buyer to wait another 10more days, if the parcel still not arrive, then resend the goods to him/her.
I belif in good serbis! so i rather lost sikit $$ than lost my reputation.
Who said after msn, no more leaving comments!?
Hi Connie, wow, i feel safe doing business with you.
BeeLee, hope you get to know something about online biz too
Boon ah,
and i like your attitude. You’d rather use some $ than lost your reputation or feel uneasy.
You should say… if you’re from malaysia, please claim your refund from your postal company.
you really need to teach me on how to become a professional blogger or seller of e-bay!
ya…. check the delivery confirmation & send him the detail.
yup… should give partial refund… if it’s not too exp.
this happen to me once. the buyer sent me email after 15 days (usually 3 days is enough) saying that she didn’t receive the item.
My immediate action is, ask for her bank account so that I could refund her.
however, she trusted that I’m a good seller, (based on my ebay feedback). She refuse the refund, and commented that is not my fault.
My next action is sent her a Thank You card and a small gift.
