Just My Personal Opinion
750+ comments in a single blog post. This is a first time I came across such a post that people just can’t stop commenting. Or maybe it has stopped at this time of writing. I remember reading that on Saturday and the comments had already hit more than 600. And the post was posted on Friday. Just one night, the post attracted 600 over comments.
I have always been an avid reader of Kennysia.com. I am not sure if you know him. He is from Kuching Malaysia and got quite famous with his personal blog. Hats off to Kenny whose intention was never to blog for money but in the end draw so much attention.
Recently, one of his posts end up with more than 750 comments. Kenny posted an article on a serious car accident he came across. He stopped over to help and also took some pictures. Naturally his posts will consists a number of photos he took on the spot.
Some said he should just help with calling the ambulance and buzz off. Some said he should not be publishing such a cruel incident. Some supported his blog post. This continues until Kenny has to put up the “Public Service Announcement†message to tell the world that permissions are granted from the victim’s family on the post. The blog post had created a debate among readers themselves.
Personally, I do not see anything wrong with blogging about the accidents. After all, it is his personal blog, he can blog about what he likes. Perhaps I may blog about it too if I am the one on scene, but maybe I will restrict myself to only showing one or two pictures.
If you are on the scene, would you blog about your encounter? Is there something we can draw a line on what should be blogged? I would like to know your opinions. Of course, I am not asking for a debate or fight in here; I just want your honest two cents. To read Kenny’s post, just click here. To go to Kenny’s blog, click here.

Hi Jenny,
I am really amazed by the no. of comments that post has gathered.
There are no thoughtless remarks or really extreme gore photos in that post. I would say that the post would qualify as a “news blogger-journalist”. He’s merely stating what happened.
If you never link to his post, I would not had knows about this horrible accident! I really felt very sorry for the victims and their family members. God bless them wherever they are now…
Hi Jenny,
It’s not about what pictures or what contents you put, it’s about yourself.
Like you mentioned above, this is personal blog, any person can write anything. However, the blog contents or artcles or posts will reflect how that person’s characterisics as well as his belief.
If he think that posting such photos are acceptable for him and he has taken action to get approval from the victims, that’s all fine.
If his conscious telling him it’s not ethical to put victims photo to public, then he will pull away the photos, or blank off the victims.
That’s all depends on the blog owner/publisher !
That’s just my opinion
Regards,
Calvin Chin
I totally disagree with Kenny Sia.
C’mon, he can blog about it, but to post all those photographs and then still insisted he has done the right thing?!
Anyway, that is Kenny Sia. He always try make a publicity of himself out of every single event in his life.
He did it this time. Again.
Alex, I agree with you about “There are no thoughtless remarks or really extreme gore photos in that post”. And I like the way you see positive things out of everything. Thanks Alex for sharing me your thoughts.
Calvin, thank you for your first comment. yes, i think he is not going to take down the post or any photos by putting up the announcement. Luckily there are no unpleasant pics.
KuanHoong, I agree the photos a bit too many. I was surprised that there is a need to put so many for this incident. For other posts it is okay. If i would blog something like this, i’d put at most two…
Anyway, let us all pray the victims.

I agreed with kuan hoong too. If it’s a general article with just one or two photos, i’ll be ok with it. Even though Kenny Sia did help out during the accident, it does not mean that he should post so many photos on it. Publicity and awareness is good but to certain extent. What he did is totally unacceptable by me.
my top comments for 1 post was 122, and i felt so fantastic. His got 800!?!? WahLau
of course 1st priority is to save people. if situation ok then take pics n post it is still ok for me.
but i don;t think i will post an accident coz it really make me feeeeeeel sad.
