Samsung SCX-4521F All In One Printer Review

samsungSCX-4521F

Home office is pretty much like a ‘real office’. Only that it is in a much smaller scale. You do need some software and hardware to go hand in hand with your daily home business transactions. What kind of printer do you have in your home office?

I purchased this multifunction Samsung SCX-4521F printer for my home office a few months ago. In short, all I can say is that I couldn’t ask for more. This is one of the cheapest laser all-in-one models on the market at about $280.

Well it is supposed to print, copy, fax and scan, and to a certain extent it does just that. Print wise it does about 20 ppm of text which is perfectly sufficient for my needs, and even fonts at pts were readable.

Graphics wise though, it only prints black and white. So if you print a lot of graphics, you’d want to look for a color printer. I mostly print invoice, shipping labels and reports with it, so a black and white serves me well.

Scanning is not something I do a lot of, but it does create some decent images. So far I have had no issues with the fax facility and it seems fairly fast. Samsung claimed that it will print of 3 sec/page and that seems about right from what I have seen.

This is a fairly small and light printer, perfect for the home or small office. Installation and setting up is also a breeze with all leads and software coming with the printer to make the whole setting up take next to no time. Ink wise, I have no complaints compared to the inkjet printer I used to use (what a terrible comparison that makes though).

The Samsung SCX-4521F is decent enough for the price. If you want a cheaper printer, you can consider the HP OfficeJet 5780 for less money. It is less office orientated though.

So, which printer do you use in your home office?

If you want to buy this printer, you can get it on sale from Amazon through this link.

Here’s what a current owner have to say about it:

As always shipping was fast via Amazon. This is a great Multifunction unit, printing is fast and very good quality, the fax has worked great, both sending and receiving. We have not yet used the scan function, however, we are certain it will work as great and all the other efunctions have. We have not experianced any paper jambs or problems. We did a lot of cost/function comparisons prior to picking this unit and we are very pleased.
