Etsy - Make Profit Selling Handmade Arts and Crafts
Selling handmade arts and crafts on eBay is a big business but looks like rival Etsy.com is coming on strong.
The advantage of Etsy over eBay is that it is specialized and you can search only handmade items by category.
They have grown so much over the years with 150,000 sellers in 171 countries, and approaching 1,000,000 members. This is certainly an exciting milestone.
The other advantage is it’s really cheap to sell on Etsy with the low fees. Etsy charges only 20-cent listing fee and no final value fee. Most of the crafts categories are there from Woodworking to Crafts Accessories.
Etsy also has a feature where you can shop locally. A buyer can first find your craft on Etsy, then they can make an appointment to come and see the item personally. This is especially if you are looking for very expensive crafts where you like to see, touch, smell and talk to the seller before committing anything.
If you are selling your arts and crafts on eBay now, why not give Etsy a try too? You don’t have to leave eBay just yet, but monitor how well Etsy converts for you first.

Those are some great tips for starting an arts and crafts business. If you’re looking to start or expand your business Microsoft just launched a great website with some really helpful resources for women in small businesses.
I’m an official Microsoft ambassador and right now we’re really trying to scale up our connections with influential bloggers like yourself. I’d love to share with you some of the stuff we’ve been doing in the last couple months to help women entrepreneurs; we’re really committed to providing all the necessary resources to help women start, grow and expand their business.
We just wrapped up a women’s entrepreneurial tour across the US called “Vision To Venture;” the response and turn-out was great!
I’d really love your take on some of the offerings we have right now; I would have contacted you via email but I didn’t know which was the best way to reach you.
Thank you so much, I hope I didn’t overstep my bounds by directly contacting you. Definitely get back to me if I’ve piqued your interest– I’d love to share more info with you.
Best,
