My eBay Account Hacked & New Policies Updates
What a terrible day I had. This morning I logged in to my Paypal account and discovered a $2,000 withdrawal transaction from my bank.
And then this $2,000 is transferred to a company which I do not know. Fortunately, both transaction was in uncleared status.

I then login to my eBay account and found that I’ve won a gold iPhone, yep, for $2,000. (How did they know I’m wishing for an iPhone?)
I immediately contact eBay Support about it. After some disconnected sessions, waitings and frustration, I finally got through with the security department. I’m relieve to know that the issue is solved. I’m told…
It appears that your account was accessed by an unauthorized third party and used to place bids. We have already taken several steps to help resolve this situation.
It is clearly documented that you did not place these bids and the sellers have been notified. In some rare instances, you may receive an Unpaid Item (UPI) dispute from these transactions. If you receive any UPI strikes or negative feedback from these unauthorized bids, please contact us again and we will remove these for you.
Here’s the link if you want to report any security issues with your eBay account. It’s live support as well, don’t rely on the main support to pass you the line, it gets disconnected everytime and it annoys the hell out of me.

And a little bit of welcoming news relating to the security issues on eBay today. To protect members from unauthorized account access, eBay has started to take serious note of which computers you use to login.
If you try to sign in from an unknown computer, for example, in the cybercafe or your ex-boyfriend’s house, eBay will make an automated phone call to your registered phone number to confirm your identity.
Imagine eBay calling my house number and my honey pick it up.
“Hello, this is eBay Inc calling. We just want to confirm Jenny has login to eBay from another computer. We checked the IP and it appears that she’s logged in from her ex-boyfriend’s house. Would you like to confirm this?”
Whoa…
Well, if you’ve forgotten what details you entered in your profile (example, password, security questions and phone number) please go and update them now. (Yeah, make sure you enter your handphone number and not house number, kidding).
And please don’t wait such issue to happen to change your passwords. Things do happen (as in caught in your ex’s house?) - when you least expected it.
No, but seriously, go update your profiles now.

I’ve had issues in the past with my ebay account getting hacked and also my paypal account…. but thankfully they got resolved quickly.
Jenny, I hope that the scenario does not happen to my worst enemy too! Congratulations and all the best.
worst enemy?
