New Gmail Features Verifies Paypal and Ebay Emails

If you are a Paypal user, you must be receiving some emails claiming to come from one of eBay’s or PayPal’s. They looked real, so new users almost always got cheated. I used to panic when i saw the “Please Restore Your Account Access” message in my inbox.

These so called scammers will try to get your Paypal ID and password so they can Login then Clean out your Paypal Account of all funds.

The same with Ebay fake emails. Now, both Ebay and Paypal is fully aware of this problem long time and have always try everything possible to stop this.

Recently Gmail announced a new verification feature called Authentication icon for verified senders. This new feature (currently in Google Labs) visually verifies each email from PayPal and Ebay to see if it’s really from them.

To do this, just…
1. Go to Settings
2. Click on Labs
3. Go to “Authentication icon for verified senders” and click “enable”

After that, you’ll see a key icon next to verified emails that are genuine, like this…

This feature is limited to just eBay and PayPal right now.

this is a new one for me….I’ve been an ebay seller for over 6 years and this morning I had an email msg from someone asking if I would ship one of my sports caps to NJ.

I thought it was a strange question since I only live in Boston and then I noticed that the word ebay was spelled ebey in part of the email so I went to my messages on my ebay account and sure enough there weren’t any.

Then I checked out the name of the person in ebays members and he is not a member any longer, has 0 feedback and was only a member for a month. I not only forwarded the email to spoofs but alerted Fair Trade also. Not only do these people try to scam us but they try to get our information too.

PayPal and eBay spam has gotten to the point that I’m not really sure how the actual companies send any legitimate emails anymore. I’ll pretty much automatically delete anything that purports to come from them, unless I’m expecting a payment from someone via PayPa
