Jenny How I can’t remember when I last read a novel. Maybe since school days, I think I have totally stopped going for stories or novels books. What I have now with me are bunch of self-improvement books and I never get tired of buying or reading them.
Here is one of my favourite legend on how a man went from wealth to broke and back to wealth again.
Carlos Arboleya. Have you heard of him? I bet you haven’t. He was an Account Officer in one of the largest bank in Cuba. After communist took over Cuba in 1960, he fled with his family and arrived in America with just $42. He was unemployed, had no place to stay and didn’t know a single person in Miami. So, it was triple hard to find any help. Banks there would not hire him.
After many desperate attempts in getting a job, he finally worked in a shoe factory taking inventories. Ok, needless to say, results were spectacular after pouring in all his enthusiasm, enormous energy and long working hours.
Within 16 months, yes, he was the manager of the shoe company. So I made you feel bad because you have been like forever in your company and you are still now in the same position as you started.
A short while later, Carlos was offered a job at the bank where the shoe company do business. Very soon, he moved to become the president of the largest chain of banks in America.

This man proved to us that you don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. He took up a job he was overqualified for and provide for his family. And worked hard in landing himself the opportunity for a job he desired.
Look at yourself and tell me, have you start to be great?

Yeap, I feel that novels are no longer atrractive to me, I need something practical.
When my aunt first graduated in 1989, she couldn’t find a job because the economy was not good, so she started as a temp shipping clerk which was meant to last for only 8 months, but she ended up as a shipping manager later on, although she didn’t become as famous/rich as Carlos, I admire her spirit, and this is another great post you have
