As with every dedicated user on eBay, I also follow the changes implemented on this popular website; the changes that have occurred so far during 2010 and the new ones announced are both positive and negative. Let’s see the eBay changes for 2010. The good and the bad ones.

Policy changes, changes in fees and store inventory changes are in the eBay agenda for 2010.

Since June 2010, all users on eBay will be assigned an email address that they can use during their email exchange and conversations with other users on eBay. The addresses will be anonymous. When receiving an email from some other user, you will be able to click on the reply button in order to send your response.

The anonymous email address will appear in the address field; therefore, your email will be sent to the actual address of the recipient via the anonymous email system.

eBay offers us now increased protection from spam messages; the email message system will be able to verify the addresses used by users. In order to ensure that the message will be delivered, you are supposed to respond to the emails of the members from a registered email address, or the specified in the communication preferences address.

eBay is also introducing a new pricing system; the new fixed price format will be transforming the listings in the Store inventory to fixed price listings, keeping the same duration.

One more change that is considered bad is that the sellers can no more use the Power Seller icon and cannot refer to the Power seller designation in the listing templates or the descriptions. This is bad news for the power sellers and those who have been using the eBay services for a long time.

eBay stores will be charged with a new fee starting this summer. There are going to be three different packages, such as basic, premium and anchor, allowing you to choose which one is more beneficial for you.
