Received My Digital Product In CD Today
Now that eBay has banned the selling of digital downloadable product, many sellers have sought to sell them on CD and DVD.
After all, selling them on physical disc gives higher perceived value. It’s something owned by you and not some cheap resell rights .zip download files. So, the eBay ban isn’t really that bad if you are a genuine seller. In fact, it’s helping you.
I received my CD today from an eBay seller:
Overall it isn’t too bad because I didn’t expect much out of it.
Just a few thing to note that can be improved from the seller:
- The packaging was a normal envelope and was crumpled when it arrived – could have used a padded envelope. (But I understand this will means higher postage)
- The CD doesn’t have any labels on it – could have print a url, CD title and contact information there. (But I know this mean more work for the sellers)
- The CD Cover is better with print on it – could have use a CD case. (But I know this will also means higher postage)
Are you selling you information product on a CD or DVD?
Sounds like too much of work eh? What if you can make your CD or DVD looks so pro it just blow your customers away like this:
And what if it’s all done for you automatically? Without you doing anything on your part, not even buying and keeping CDs or DVDs?
P/S: oh yes, someone was asking why I’m buying a Christmas CD so early. Well, I just don’t want to bid for this when it’s close to Christmas – so that I can pay for the lowest bid price and not end up in a bid war.

It is very annoying indeed when the packaging is not adequate. Apart from the aesthetic aspects of it, such poor packaging could also damage the discs. Your alternative suggestion is very practical and attractive too.
[...] other day I mentioned about receiving a CD but the overall impression wasn’t that good. Plus the seller is doing all the work, to burn, [...]
Kunaki is great for automating the whole process. Especially if the buyer pays the shipping and handling you can probably get away with including the $1.75 cost as part of that too.
As a buyer, I don’t mind paying a little extra, especially when something looks a lot more professional like that. It will probably help cut back on refunds too as the buyer sees more “value” in the product.
