Should You Start Another Make Money Online Blog?

With the amount of blogs being created everyday, more and more people are also hopping into the making money online niche.

The growing amount of such blog has been overwhelming in the past years. Probably many people realized that this is the biggest topic most talked about. Who do not want to find a way to make money online?

It is sad that among the ever growing figures of make money online blog, only a handful is genuine. Genuine simply means that the blogger have real knowledge in earning online and he writes from experiences.

And the rest is simply starting a blog telling people how to make money online when they have never even made a dollar online before, they write by sniffing around other guru’s blog and then try to carve a similar post.

We all have seen such superficial blogs around. There are too many, I don’t have to name it.

So, the question today is “Should you start another make money online blog?”

make money online

Yes, if you have experiences getting money from online activities before, not just a dollar but at least a decent figure that pay your household bills and car loan.

Then you should resort to put up a people-oriented make money online blog. I find that a lot of the gurus out there are simply too busy to be bothered to reply emails.

Most pioneer gurus appear friendly and smiling in their blog. But in reality, they care less when you send them emails. Most probably, they are also bombarded with the same question again and again everyday, so, your emails just go directly into the trash folder. And they are so tied up with diversifying their earnings, communication on a personal level are ignored completely. Blog posts are also slowly outsourced to other parties.

Are their blogs on the way to becoming superficial too?

If you have sent them emails and waited like eternity to get a response, you’d know who I am referring to.

You can make it better by being a people-oriented blogger. Put up a personal touch on your blog, show who you really are, not just how much you made.

Create some videos to show you really know what you are talking about; show readers how to do things and show results. They will believe that you are not just another superficial MMO site.

Always be the first to deliver NEWS. Not the second or third.

money tree

BUT if you are merely quoting what other blogs are writing about and then at the end of the post, put a link up that refer to the original post, by all means, please stop your make money online blog. Can’t readers go to that site directly, what makes you think that they need to hop to your blog first?

And a BIG no-no if you only made ten dollars in 1 month and you say “I am starting a blog to try to make money online, I will update you everyday how many cents I am making.”

If that is the case, why don’t you be a little patient, start with a good niche, earn some good three figures of dollars or pounds, and then start a blog sharing your experiences how you went through it?

What is your view on all the make money online blogs that you have came across?
Would you start another such blog or are you having one now?
If yes, is yours one of the tuna in the sea of superficial blogs or a genuine one?

I want to hear your feedback on this.

Jenny, I like your $ tree. U know what my answer.

U know I just had my final yesterday. There were some very stupid questions on the exam paper that made me giggle so much, I could not laugh too much cos it was exam, I don’t want people to think I was crazy. Quote you 1 of them- one of f yr elderly client recently confided to you she could not sleep well . She told you she won the lottery a wk back and had been hiding the $ under the bed. What is the best therapeutic answer you should give her ? a. buy a firearm, b. install an alarm system, c. scream, d. ask her to ask someone to call her every day, e. sleep only in the day. I giggle so hard cos I thought what a hilarious question and answers. ( Trust me, whoever did the final this yr must be insane, the final has always been difficult). My point here is not to discuss my exam. My point here is I have the same kind of laugh when I read some housewives in Malaysia who wrote paid post on places they have never been, services/products they have no clue about. Whenever I read those adv. done by paid bloggers like that, I wanted to laugh so hard. Today, I just cannot handle it anymore, I made a comment on one of the paid post I read. I wonder how on earth those companies wanted people like that to write ? Don’t you think that it is ridiculous to hear a sales guy telling you a certain products sanitary pads are softer than the others ? :):):). Can’t stop laughing here.

Hi, I did link someone posts on pagerank issue today lah, Jenny cos I thought that is a good write up lah :).

But, I think it is ok if someone wanted to jump on the wagon , u never know , nowsaday a lot of egg heads do get what they want, ahead and successful whereas people like me who is smart is not neccessary go too far.

I don’t mind you share your earning money online experience if you really earn big bucks from there.

But to be honest, as a beginner like me, I think I would rather read the experiences rather than “How To ..”
This is to push myself to another level of trusting that it really works.

    just my 2 cents.

Make Money Online is like any other actual business. In fact, it is the same but in a different kind of medium. The medium for Make Money Online is the Internet. Your customers are your visitors. Your incomes are your ads, affiliate marketing and review posts. To build a business for Make Money Online, you need to build good relationships with your readers. As you said, communication is very important.

No doubt there are alot of Make Money Online blogs out there now, but only those that are persistent and consistent will finally prevail. Eventually readers will able to find out which bloggers are really making money and which are not.

    Hi Jenny,

IMHO, I woud agree to open up more blogs to discuss
topics on specific niche market.

First of all, it will be more targetted. The visitors and readers
who reach that blogsite will know what are the things can
    be found in that blogsite.

Also, this will help climb up the ranking easily with individual
blogsite instead of all topics jam pack under one blogsite.

Next thing, of course you can generate additional income
from the ads on your blogsites. That’s what motivated
many people to create as many blogs as they can.

However, I agree with kuanhoong of not to have too many
blogs until you couldn’t handle them.

You must build relationship, build trust, build repeating
visits by your visitors and readers.

One thing I would like to add is, people are lazy. If they
can find your blogsite a good place to read interesting
topics, they will stick with your blogsite. Why? Because
they can easily find your blogsite, they can read RSS
from your blogste, instead of those reference sites.

    Well… that’s my little opinion… !

    Regards,
    Calvin Chin

you hit the jackpot with this post. I too have ranted about this a few times in one of my lessor known blog.

Though I have made a little from my blogs, I will never have the guts to start teaching others how before I reach 5 figures. Making a couple of thousand ringgit with our blogs is nothing these days. All we have to do is write 3 simple reviews that pays 10USD each everyday, and we are home free. So what is the big secret that needs to be taught huh?

What all these new blogs want is for people to sign up with all the affiliate programs that they themselves have sign up. Is that the secret that they are trying to teach?

Ok then, I will put on hold my plan to start a “how to make 5 figures income from a blog”.

Well, there are millions of blogs out there and it is hard to breakthrough. So, like you said, only do it if the blogger has the knowledge or already established somewhat. I pwned on first page out of 4M pages for make money and how to make money and I still am puzzled how my site got there. :P Must be due to luck as well.

I just received my 1st adsense cheque after 17 months started on it….phew…very long le…. .but I just want to see it through that this system is working, not really on making money. Mainly also to avoid students saying that I’m “blowing water” if I don’t really experience it. Experience speaks louder than textbook.

So, this is a good example of a lousy blogger who can’t make money online but it is more on the passion to share the knowledge especially in my case here is to share the latest updates and develpments related to my field of teaching.

Yeah…I agree with what you said. Merely quoting others without writing your own willl not get you anywhere in making money online.
As a new blogger, I’m having a tough time earning from blogging. But I believe this will only come when good contents are there, bigger audiences and better ranking of blog.

Thanks for the article. Good points. Cheers.

Jenny, nice to find you post. In fact, I was pondering about these very facts too earlier today. It looks like I’m not alone having sensing bad vibes from some of these self-portrayed big money-making guru, marketers or bloggers. It seems that some of these infopreneuring or internet marketers (unlike MLMers or people of other many other business niches, both online and offline-based) prefer to be just among their like peers. Unless of course, if you buy one of their products. Otherwise, you’re nobody to them, because, supposedly people are lining up to buy more of their products, and they need not treat you individually.

One blogger even wrote a full post on “how to interact with Internet marketers”! — Supposedly what to do and what not to do when trying to get in touch with them ‘online stars’. If the tips come from a third party individual, I’d respect such tips, but when they come from not-yet-somebody who claims authority for giving people’s to-the-face advice, I think it’s damn rude, especially if they ever consider to be a businessperson.

I’ve read another web article today about Entrepreneurs 2.0 — they’re supposed to be humble. Many money-making IMers, instead of showing humbleness, seem to brag too much instead — they definitely are not 2.0 then. I remember how infopreneurship was huge in the USA in 2001-2004, and it’s been huge in Asia perhaps in 2005-2007. It’s a matter of time before people in Asia also will also have enough of infopreneurship hypes.

I however don’t agree with your suggestion that new money-making dreamer should not blog about their money-making trial-n-error adventure. I think that they should go ahead and blog about their true experience, and only then can they harvest as much advices from other otais (old-timers) or people of related expertise. It’ll only become a problem if they are to only absorb everything that are given to them by these otais instead of coming up with their own innovations.

Talk about videos, have you yourself published some up?? ;)

I just wanna add that in contrary to what you mentioned about ‘outsourcing blogging’ making the blogs or the blogger somewhat impersonal, a blogger would actually be more impersonal if they are inundated with the blogging chore itself! Busy people who don’t have time to socialize or interact with others beside their same-niche peers or small circle of friends, simply means that they haven’t made enough money, or failed to manage their time properly.

Read this post and tell me what you think about it:
    http://mypajamanation.blogspot.com/2007/07/shuths-mistake-delaying-to-outsource.html

Me personally, although I manage hundreds of web hosting customers, I still have time for personal email with strangers, new projects, offline meets (not just related to business), not-for-profit chores, educational seminars, academic classes, blogging about my hometowns etc.

And btw, Suhaimy who wrote the tip at above post, surprisingly replied to an email from me (who happens to be a ’stranger’ to him — we’ve practically never interacted before) in minutes!

(48 hours wait would be acceptable though — people at MDeC are even worse at replying emails, and they are supposed to help local IT people!)
