Yeah, so Ebay does it again. This time forbidding any links going out to non-related Ebay sites even in your About Me page. I can’t blame eBay though, most marketers who are out there to make money online are greedy.

Not that you can’t be creative. You can still market your own site on Ebay without breaking the rules.

Putting your website links in your About Me page is legally against the rules, but you can do it discreetly. Follow my step by step guides below to continue getting traffics to your e-commerce site via Ebay.

1. Stop hosting all your extra photos on free hosting sites.

2. Stop using free email services like Gmail, Hotmail or Bla Bla Mail.

3. Set up picture hosting and Email address using your own e-commerce domain. Just allocate a directory for all your Ebay pictures. Get your own domain name and hosting if you do not have one yet.

4. What I want you to do is host all your photos yourself.

5. That’s right. Host all your photos yourself, this will make your image URL include the links to your website.

6. Set up an email address for your domain.

7. Include a line in your auctions or About Me page which says something like “Contact me at bebe@mysuperstore.com if you have any questions regarding this auction.” Remember, do not do anything to suggest going to your e-commerce site.

8. Use that email address as your customer support Email.

9. When you ship out your parcel, remember to include your domain URL and support Email as part of the sender’s address.

10. Give out something free in the parcel with your domain URL printed on it.

11. Set up Email signatures. You do send out invoice, payment reminder, payment received notification and shipment notification don’t you? Make sure you include your email address which has your domain name on it.

12. Send out an attractive post-sale flyer and shop discount coupon in your parcel thanking your customer for their purchase. Tells them they more savings if they purchase from your ecommerce shop in any future purchases.

At first glance, it may seem impossible to do anything more with the Ebay policies. But, there are always some easy legal solutions to every obstacle.

People are not stupid. They will notice your domain name when you email them, in your signature or in your auction listings.

This is to use the subconscious mind by telling them you have a website but indirectly. You want to tell them in a subtle way, a subconscious way.
