MP3 Fakes On eBay Drives Buyers Mad
Nov 27th, 2007 by JH
An online petition about fake MP3 players on eBay was created and has attracted 1733 signatures at the time of writing, reported Webuser Those who signed all were said to be eBay members that have been mislead to purchase fake MP3 or MP4 players in the auction site.
The online petition stated that fake MP3 and MP4 players are being sold on eBay that promises higher storage capacity than they actually have.

These MP3 and MP4 players are being listed as having 2GB\4GB and 8GB (Gigabyte) of storage capacity but in reality they have much smaller memory modules that have been manipulated (hacked) so that they read as larger than their true capacity.
eBay apparently, introduced a specific policies for selling MP3 and MP4 players on 1 September 2007 which are designed to “improve the buyer’s shopping experience”. But looks like not many sellers are really following the guides or are aware of it.
All items listed in the ‘MP3 Player and Accessories’ category are required to mention ONLY physical memory capacity in the title and compressed capacity.

There are just certain items I just will not even consider buying on eBay any more. They have done little over the years to take care of the problem… get into the craft area now there’s a spot they will axe you over
