Top 5 Products Which Rip Buyers Off This Holiday
It’s the holidays! It means shoppers are getting themselves into a frenzy looking for “hot” products and gifts for their kids, families and friends. There are some clever sellers making a handsome profit out of the less tech-savvy buyers this season.
Take a look at these top products that are getting way above their retail value on eBay right now.
1. Nintendo Wii:

Retail Price: $250
eBay Prices: $300-$500
Looks like the Wii is really the hottest gift of the year. If you have one and if you wouldn’t mind parting with it for a month or two, auction it off it on eBay for a $150 profit. You can then buy one in January when it’ll be easier to come by.
2. Rock Band:

Retail Price: $170
eBay Prices: $170-$250
Although the profits aren’t as high for Rock Band as they are for Wii, you can creatively make your listing look like it’s worth more than it is. See if you can rip some nice profits there.
3. Guitar Hero 3:

Retail Price: $100
eBay Prices: $100-$150
Like Rock Band, you’ll need to make a pretty nice auction page and takes lots of picture to get a whole lot higher than retail.
4. Amazon Kindle:

Retail Price: $399
eBay prices: $450-$1000
The Amazon Kindle sold out almost immediately, did you purchased one? If yes, you’ve got yourself a stack of money. Confused eBay buyers are now willing to spend and arm and a leg on the eBook reader. Even used Amazon Kindles are selling for above retail.
5. Unlocked iPhone:

Retail price: $399
eBay prices: $450-$750
If you have the technical know-how to unlock an iPhone for use on carriers other than AT&T, you can make a tidy profit selling an unlocked phone on eBay.
Happy holidays! I guess when the buyers see smiles on the recipient’s face, it’s worth all the bucks they paid for.
Did you notice any unusual surge in prices on eBay too for some other items? Comment and let me know.

Hi Jenny
I’m just starting to get used to ebay selling these few days. Sold one Canon lens so far and I’m planning to get serious with ebay business in the near future
Anyway, back to your article, one item that was sold at higher price than RRP in the UK was PS3 60Gb version. Wanna know why? Because Sony is replacing this version with the 40Gb ones here in Europe.
I didn’t know that. Otherwise I’d make a few hundred pounds just by simply selling stuff bought much earlier than christmas
