What do blogging and selling in eBay have in common?

Ads:

1. Find a niche market
Just like blogging, selling requires you to position your products to a niche market. Take a look at the broad list of eBay categories and subcategories. Each of this is a niche market unto itself. Alternatively, go under eBay Pulse to see what are the most searched and watched items

2. Find a good name
Everybody says find a good blog name so that people know what you blog about. In the business world your name is pretty important. It serves as a marketing tool that send message to people immediately what you do. Take sometimes to think of a meaningful id, one which is easy to remember and reflect your business styles.

3. Personalized your service
Put a personal touch into your selling. Make the customers feel at ease looking at your listings, describe your items clearly, your policies and postage. Provide a unique before and after customer’s service. Also think how you can differentiate yourself from the other sellers. Package and value your products uniquely.

3. Do not spam
This is a totally no-no. Example: selling a non-branded handbag, but it’s titled as “Handbag Gucci Guess LV”. When people search for a real Gucci handbag, all the other non related items are listed as well. If this is reported, your listings may be removed by eBay.

4. Provide new items / products frequently
Just like blog readers like reading fresh contents updated regularly, buyers do like to browse for new items or arrivals frequently. Most customers if they like your service the first time will likely come to you again to check on new arrivals. If you keep selling the same thing over and over, chances are your repeat customers will find it bored and might move elsewhere.

5. Cross promotes your items with other eBay members
In blog, you exchange links with other bloggers so that you get more traffics or ranking. In eBay cross-promotion connections enable more buyers to discover your items because they will be promoted through other sellers’ listings as well as your own. You can request a new connection with any seller you know and trust.
