Big Papi had put up his red 2005 Mercedes Benz for auction on eBay Motor on August 16 2007. With a 7 days listing, the auction ended just today.

David Ortiz or more widely known as Big Papi is a Major League Baseball designated hitter who plays for the Boston Red Sox since 2003.

The Mercedez SL5 was bought as a gift for himself after the 2004 World Series. He bought the car at $205,000 and paid an additional $35,000 for accessories, which include a window-rattling stereo and other little touches that make it an Ortiz original.

The winner of the car auction will be able to meet Big Papi personally. He will hand deliver the car at Fenway Park to the lucky winner of this auction himself, bringing him/her the new car with keys and title in hand.

The car is very well kept and maintained, has just a little over 4,000 miles on it. I personally love the Red Sox color of this Mercedez SL65. Big Papi mentioned in the auction:

When I checked on the auction yesterday, there were 41 bids and the auction’s price was US $450,301.00. I checked on the auction again today as I was curious how much the end prices would be. Suprisingly, the auction ended with 0 bids. Big Papi had added these words below the listing a day before auction ends :

ALL BIDDERS MUST BE PRE APPROVED. PLEASE CONTACT ME TO BE PLACED ON THE APPROVED BIDDER LIST. NO ZERO FEEDBACK ALLOWED.

I wonder what happen to the auction? Could it be all the bidders have a feedback of zero and he decided to cancel their bids?
