10 Places To Find Things To Sell On eBay Immediately

Many people are earning $10,000 or more selling on eBay. Many more people would like to sell on eBay but are stuck with that big question mark - “Where Do I find Items to sell on eBay?”

Here are the 10 Places to Find Items to sell on eBay:

1. Garage Sales
Stop by garage sales at the end of the day and offer to buy all the merchandise they have left. You can often spend $25 - $50 and then resell on eBay for $500 or more.

2. Storage Units
You’ve seen those Storage units. If people don’t pay their rent the contents are auctioned site unseen. You can almost always make huge profits reselling these items on eBay and you almost always break even if you happen to get a lemon.

3. Household Items
Clean out the attic, go through the garage and even your closet. Most Households have hundreds if not thousands of dollars of “Junk” they can sell on eBay.

4. Government Auctions
Government Auctions are another great place to find things to sell on eBay.

5. Consignment
This appears to be one of the fastest growing small business of the New Millennium. You sell things for other people on eBay and you keep 25% of the profit

6. eBay Wholesale Lots
If you know a market like coins, Antiques, Stamps you can often buy items on eBay at deep discounts from motivated sellers and then turn around and sell them at a very nice profit.

7. Retail Inventory
If you happen to own a store this is a great way to get rid of your overstock, Off Season or returned items. Using the consignment idea you can offer to sell (hard to sell items) for local merchants on eBay.

8. Flea Markets/Swap Meets
Flea Markets/ Swap Meets often have Day Sellers. Many of these people don’t want to load up the stuff at the end of the day and take it Home. By offering to by all that is left at the end of the day you can often get great deals.

9. Church Bazaars
The Church Bazaar strategy is similar to the Flea Market Strategy above. Offer to buy what’s left at the end of the day at a deep discount

10. Fairs, carnivals and festivals
you can get great bargains at local fairs and festivals.

Still no idea where to get your items to sell? Consider getting wholesale supplies. Here is a list of wholesale suppliers and closeout dealers to start with.

Hi Aloy, great seeing ya around. I love those purple flowers in your avatar. Come back often for updates. :D

Thanx Jerry. Honestly, I sell from all these sources.

Doraemon, yes, i bought from Alibaba too, and on your comment about scammers, if we are face to face with a person physically, we all can get scammed to, can’t we? Scammers exist practically offline & online.

As I mentioned, if you buy from wholesale, there is no negotiation how much you want to buy. Wholesale means buying in bulk, not only in Alibaba, even if your neighbour is in the wholesale business, they will sell you in bulk.

BeeLee, where have ya been these few days?

Jenny: if buy face to face with person, we know who is that and if he/she scam. we still can find him/her or lodge police report. but if buy from alibaba where most of the sellers are from china. how do we find them? The shipping cost form china to malaysia is so high. die if buy little things. they have minimun order too. :D

you’ll need a paypal account for this right? that’s the hindering thing. i have yet to learn how does paypal works but from what i understand, it’s not very malaysian friendly.

Hi Doraemon, you lodge a police report when you get scammed physically, they get caught and our country can live in peace happily ever after. I wish that happens too.

Where to find warehouse or flea markets? hmmm, do you go out of the house or read your local newspaper, btw… ;)

and about eBay wholesale lots, i just updated my post on that. :D

Monkey, thanks! i like your suggestion! i’ve been trying to tweak my post title to orange too but can’t since it is a link and it follows the default :(

Well, the green header, can you believe it? it is something i just wanna use for feng shui purpose. haha, believe it? I really appreciate all the constructive feedbacks!!! let me try orange for a while and see if that will affect my feng shui.

:) Yes Zewt, Paypal is needed for international sales. For local sales only local bank is needed.

I’ve never tried shopping on eBay. I think I only bought books (thru half.com). I might be interested in selling some of my junk there. I just need to learn how!

Jenny: if local scam.. and you know who is that and know more information about the scammer, you can lodge police report. :D but if they are from other countries. what can we do? just take it as a leson. LOL.

i do read local newspaper and do go out. but the place i live is a “kampong” to a lot of people.

about eBay wholesale lots, i checked it already. i tried to explore ebay website and found it. :D some of the products are cheap. :)

About alibaba, it is better don’t buy expensive things. because if the minimun order is 100 units and each unit cost USD15.. hahaha.. If that is a scam.. haha..

And, i tried to find some product at alibaba and i found the price is cheap. BUT, when i go to ebay and those ebay powerseller can sell those product cheaper than wholesale price i get from supplier in alibaba. weird.. they don’t earn money? Or they get a lot cheaper than the price we get?

Very neat blog layout and cool colors, well done Jenny. This is a very good post - and I think I should actively look for antique items in garage sales in the neighbourhood.

My Financial Mistakes, wow, i think this id is great. do you still buy from half.com? how is your experience?

Doraemon, sorry but I think you fear, worried too much, and not trying hard enough. You should learn to take calculated risk.

Hee, Monkey, it better keep my blog with good feng shui :D

You mean you’ve sold or bought from eBay before Vijay?

Thiru, it took me a while to get to the right color mood :D I’m glad you liked this post. Antiques are great in eBay! Good luck!

jenny how: it is because a lot of people have been scammed. i don’t know why some people can sell some products cheaper than the price i get from manufacturer or wholesaler.

Doraemon, yes, have to be extra careful when dealing in the internet. They are genuine and fake sellers. Scammers are getting smarter nowadays too.

The reason is that they buy in very bulk lot, that gives them a really lower costs per item. There are also many tactics in selling. They can offer a low price on an item and sell high on another item to even out. You need to be in selling to experiment with all possible tactics.

There are bound to be someone who’s price will be lower than yours the next day even if you are the lowest today. i don’t think it is necessary to offer a lowest price to start your biz or to compete.

I have one word for you, and that is WOW. I thank you for the tips. I recently went the the “Storage Units”. And got a few rare item’s, also i got a 64 inch HD Tv for 500$ sold it for $1500.00. But the best item i got from there was a very rare Antique suing machine. Got it for $40.00 sold it for almost $2,000.00. Great tips and i thank you again for them.
