Your 15 BIGGEST Stopping Points

It is now July 2007. Have you achieved your goal or resolution that you set during the new year? Can you proudly say to yourself that you have accomplished them?

If you haven’t put forward a single step ahead, see if you are putting a boulder in your path, repeating nothing else but “Yeah, buts…” whenever you wanted to try something. Tell me how many of these that you recognize:

1. Yeah, but I don’t have the time.
2. Yeah, but I don’t have the money.
3. Yeah, but I don’t have the talent.
4. Yeah, but I don’t have what it takes.
5. Yeah, but I don’t know how or I don’t know the way.
6. Yeah, but my husband (or wife) won’t let me.
7. Yeah, but what if I fail or lost money?
8. Yeah, but my case is different.
9. Yeah, but I already tried, it failed.
10. Yeah, but people can’t possibly earn online.
11. Yeah, but I have kids and family to take care.
12. Yeah, but I need to have more money before I am ready.
13. Yeah, but that only works for other people.
14. Yeah, but it will take a very long time.
15. Yeah, but that is just the way I am!! (the most severe of all)

These are just a few that I can think of which I heard almost too frequently. Do you think you can go once without saying any “Yeah, buts…”?

Goals accomplishment

Try to write down what is stopping you from doing anything. It helps to write down your “Yeah, buts…”. At the end of the day, turn the “Yeah, buts…” to positive affirmations; practice it daily to change your inner thoughts. With new positive thoughts, followed by positive action, you will receive positive results.

Make an effort. There is still time to achieve your goals and dreams. All you need to do is just start the first baby step, I know that is the hardest but that does take you to a land named SUCCESS.

My two major goals for this year is to start a blog and a webstore to compliment my eBay sales. Blogging proves to be so much fun and I am now learning to climb the ropes of making money from it. My webstore was way off schedule though due to procrastination from the designer. I am working on it again this month with a friend. Hopefully things will start kicking soon.

How about you? Where would you be when you step into year 2008, 2009 or 2010?

How many “Yeah, buts…?” have you said before from the list above? Have you achieve your objectives set for 2007? How far are you away from it?

I had to admit, I’m guilty of some of those excuses myself before (and even now!!). Great post!

    Great,

I shall turn all my “Yeah, Buts” to “Yeah”

E.g., “Yeah, but my blog is not a GREAT blog” to “Yeah, my blog is a GREAT blog, don’t believe me?. Come and take a look”

Good to be a blogger but are you being addicted to it? Nice to hear that you are going to open your own webstore soon. Hopefully it will be a reality soon and I can continue to learn from you.

Objectives and resolutions set at the beginning of the year, erm….still working on it.

    Hi Jenny,
    This is a great post!
Indeed, one must not rationalize or come out with any excuses.

“An excuse is worse than a lie, for an excuse is a lie, guarded”

    Thanks for the reminder.
    Best Wishes

Zewt, maybe you can start selling to all your faithful readers

Sam, “An excuse is worse than a lie, for an excuse is a lie, guarded” mm, makes me think. When we make an excuse, we are lying to ourselves too i guess..

hehe, Jamy, your feedback made me smile. I love all the “Yeah!” after each sentence
